The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje
Opinion: It was very difficult to tell who was speaking most of the time. While I assume this was intentional in order to reflect the confusion of the characters themselves, I did not like it. It is hard to make connections as you read when you don't know who you should be making the connections to. However, I did enjoy most of the story and its unconventional course. It was a new perspective on the war for me and a different angle of what war is like and the effects it has.

Enchantments by Kathryn Harrison
Opinion: I love historical fiction. Since a lot of the characters, context and events are true, it makes the story that much more real and captivating. I loved this take on a famous historical event and humanizing the Romanovs and Rasputin and it was an interesting and quick read.

White Oleander by Janet Fitch
Opinion: So I saw the names 'Astrid' and 'Ingrid' when I did a quick skim of the inside cover to get a feel for the book. My mom's name is Astrid and her late sister's name was Ingrid. Naturally, I had to read it. It was a bit more intense and with rife with bad decisions than I would have preferred but it was definitely an eventful and dynamic read.
Recommend? Not really.

Bridget Jones' Dairy by Helen Fielding
Opinion: We all know the movie so when I thought this would be a fun in-between book to read for some laughs. I was right. That's really all that needs to be said.
Recommend? If you're a woman, yes. If not, no because you will just not get it. Just like I don't get Call of Duty.

Opinion: Honestly, I was expecting the book to be a bit more mystical and enchanting with more present supernatural elements. However, the book still had some of those elements. I would recommend taking your time with this book because there are A LOT of characters and details to be remembered as you read because characters that were introduced 100 pages ago, come back around and I ended up getting a little bit lost sometimes because I was going through the book too quickly. I loved the unexplainable elements of the story and the setting of the story. I also thoroughly enjoyed the intertwining of characters and eventual links to each other's lives.
