After about 45 minutes of letting the bleach do its thing I took a shower and washed my hair really well to get the coconut oil out. I don't have a blowdryer so I couldn't apply heat but it was fine.
I read online that to achieve more pastel-like colors, you need to dilute the dye with a bunch of conditioner. I did 1:1 ratio first after evenly mixing my 2 colors (I got a bright pink and almost-red orange) and it was still too dark. I think I did almost a 1:4 ratio as I used almost a whole bottle of conditioner. I have a ton of dye left over as a result but that's okay. I'll just use it to touch up my color after it eventually washes out. After a test, I decided I was happy with the color and that 5 minutes was more than enough. I had to work really fast and just divided by hair in 2 sides, rinsing out one side while the other side was still setting. Then all I had left to do was clean my mess and hope the orange stains come out of the sink. I love my new peach hair!
